Luke's 5th Birthday

Luke was so excited to help decorate his tractor birthday cake!

Ethan brought Luke a balloon and birthday glasses when we picked him up from school.
The cake is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cake. Greg decorated that one! :)

Luke got a new tractor and pull behind combine for his birthday, he was VERY excited!

And a farmer shirt and John Deere belt buckle, which if you know Luke,
he LOVES to dress up and was really excited about that too!

Gramma & Papa stopped by the night before to take the birthday boy out for pizza and give him his gifts. It was a good thing they came early, because our newest little niece Blakelyn Renee was born out in Colorado a little earlier then expected so they headed out to meet her.
Can you see in the photos the little helicopter flying around,
Luke was beyond excited to get his very own helicopter.

Nana stopped by and Gave Luke his Ninja Turtle Costume he picked out with Papa months ago, shortly after Cousin Holden got one for his birthday. ;) It was a secret though so he would only whisper about it to us (all the time.)
He spent the day before his birthday having fun with Papa Tony.

For Luke's party we went to Center Grove Orchard on Friday to celebrate. The weather was windy and little cool but the birthday boy didn't mind one bit and had a blast with his cousins!

Luke's birthday was really great this year,  he was so appreciative and so excited and very celebrated!

5 Years Old!! I just cannot believe how much our life has changed in the last 5 years, how blessed we've been and how truly fast it goes. As I stood in Luke's room the night before, watching him sleep, I kissed my little guy for the last time as a 4 year old and I thought about so many ways he's changed our lives in the last 5 years and I prayed for Luke with all my might and I knew as long I stood there I could stop time for just that little bit while he was still my 4 year old and with tears in my eyes I finally tore myself away knowing how fast the next five will fly.

I've used the song "Little Guy" by Gord Bamford in past slideshows but we listened to it on the way back from lunch on Luke's birthday. Our car was screaming loud but in the chaos Greg & I just listened to the words (I was crying, of course) and then Luke cracked a joke that brought us back with a smile!
If you get a chance to listen to it, it's pretty cool.

You came into this world, in the blink of an eye, we’ll man how time really flies,
you made me smile, and as a tear fell from my eye, you lit the room up little guy,
It was the best day of my life

Now I’ll laugh with you, cry with you, let my love surround you, and I'll dance with you, pray for you, and wrap my arms around you when you cry,

Cause I'm gonna be the best dad that I can, I'll take you by those little hands
and when you stumble, I'll pick you right up, I'll be your number one fan,
and watch you grow into a man

Now I’ll laugh with you, cry with you, let my love surround you, and I'll dance with you, pray for you, and wrap my arms around you when you cry,
You're gonna grow older and wiser, and your gonna chase your dreams,
and one day raise a family, and you'll know just what I mean, son you mean the world to me
I'm so glad your mine, Little Guy…
